I learn today that 2720 students are currently undertaking the Engineering Diploma. It breaks down as L1=388, L2=1745 and L3=387 This is a smaller number than expected and indicates a cautious start. Next year, some 90,000 students are forecast to be starting in 10 Diploma subjects, of which it is expected that around 10,000 will be starting the Engineering and Manufacturing Diplomas. This would represent a more substantial roll out, building on the experience of the first year schools.
